The reading list for September is below. Right now I am finishing up “Neighbors and Wise Men” by Tony Kriz.
This has become one of my favorite books. The moment I opened the cover I felt like it was written specifically for me and was speaking to my heart. The subtitle is “Sacred encounters in a Portland pub and other unexpected places.” It is a reflection of some of my favorite life moments. The moments that took place in unexpected places and that will be impressed upon me forever. You can find God in a bar, in the words of the most unheralded individual, in the noise or in the quiet. Too often we forget that God is everywhere, and that he can use anything and everything to communicate with us. Kriz’s book explores this through beautifully told stories. I would recommend this book to everyone!
Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist
Misfits Welcome by Matthew Barnett
Mansfield’s Book of Manly Men by Stephen Mansfield
Olivia by Ian Falconer
If you have a little one, Olivia is an adorable book. I added it on here for fun because I love the illustration. It is a children’s book, but I find it beautiful!
Hope you enjoy!
